The Victorian Gender Equality Act 2020 will come into effect on 31 March 2021. It’s the first of its kind in Australia. The Act sets requirements for the Victorian public sector, local councils and universities, to take positive action towards workplace gender equality. Under the Act, these agencies will be required to explicitly consider and promote gender equality in their policies, programs and services.
