Biofiltration systems have been widely implemented in the last few years as a source control technique to manage stormwater runoff in urban areas. Local water authorities are encouraging their development and construction as they have been shown to be effective in managing stormwater. The objectives of this study is to evaluate systems already built in order to asses their performance and provide guidance on the design and construction of rain-gardens based on findings of the study.
