IDM Infrastructure design manual

This Infrastructure Design Manual (IDM) was originally prepared by Greater Bendigo Council, Greater Shepparton City Council and Campaspe shire Council in collaboration with the Department of Planning and Community Development (DPCD).

This useful tool has been currently been adopted by 18 councils and is broadly used to communicate and standardise council requirements for the design and development of infrastructure. Endorsement of the IDM aims to ensure that minimum design criteria are met in regard to the design and construction of infrastructure regardless whether it is constructed by council or developers.

Stormwater quality requirements within the manual states that developments must comply with principles and recommendations of Water Sensitive Urban Design, Water Sensitive Urban Design Guidelines 2009, Urban Stormwater - Best Practice Environmental Management Guidelines and Council's Stormwater Management Plans.
