Hobsons Bay City Council staff have created a tool to help decision makers in local government prioritise Intergrated Water Management (IWM) actions and projects. The tool has been broken into three main areas focusing on drainage catchment capacity, existing downstream treatments and waterway linkage. The tool also prompts building practices to address best practice water management and the development and maintenance of high quality open space.
Staff from Hobsons Bay have generously shared this tool with IWM and stormwater practicioners to adapt for local use. For practicioners to adapt the tool for their own use they will need to localise maps, aligh with GIS is available, align with local policies, plans and add names of relevant locations. This will involve changing excel formatting and formulas.
Detailed instructions are contained within the checklist.
