training and events | | Friday 28 October 2011 Clearwater's new training course is a one day workshop that will familiarise you with the concepts required to design an effective stormwater harvesting project. You will learn about the latest research on stormwater pollutants and how to evaluate appropriate usage and risk according to current guidelines. You will gain an understanding of how to plan for and apply technologies for stormwater collection, treatment, and storage. The tour will include site visits to biofilters and wetlands in new housing estates, visits to council owned WSUD assets and town centre renewal projects incorporating WSUD and stormwater harvesting. Anna’s role has been jointly funded by DSE and MAV and is designed to support regional and rural councils (those outside of Melbourne Water’s jurisdiction) around the implementation of Clause 56.07 of the Victorian Planning Provisions, and help councils plan for integrated water management... Click for full story | | 20 October 2011 In December last year we reported that Melbourne Water Stormwater Quality team was commencing a Needs Analysis. The Analysis assessed the capacity of council’s to sustainably manage stormwater against a 2006/07 benchmark. The Need Analysis for 36 councils is now complete. An encouraging result is that 83% of councils believe their capacity to manage stormwater quality has improved since 2006/07... Click for full story |
