While factual information about river health can sometimes be disheartening, there is a great deal of wonderful work being undertaken by many groups to support and restore waterways. A research team working in New Zealand have been exploring storytelling as a way to support the efforts of community groups working to restore rivers. They identified that collective storytelling was not common in freshwater restoration, and have developed an approach to implement storytelling at scale as part of formal reporting.
