28 May 2018
Beginning in May 2018, Victorians aged 16 and over will have the opportunity to submit an idea to the recently announced community grants initiative, Pick My Project.
Victorian residents, especially in Regional areas, are encouraged to come up with a great idea to make life in their community even better. Projects need to align with one of the listed categories, such as environment, sustainability and waste, or innovation and technology. An eligible local organisation, such as a community group, school, or local council, will also need to sponsor the idea before it is submitted. Eligible ideas will be put forward for community voting.
This new grassroots democracy program will be backed by $30 million from the Victorian Budget 2018/19 and will be spread across the state, giving every community the chance to benefit.
A range of face-to-face engagement activities will be delivered at locations across the state to ensure all Victorians have the opportunity to be involved.
Winning projects will be announced in September 2018. Register for email updates and join the Pick My Project Facebook Page. Please visit the Pick My Project website for more information about local community and stakeholder events, and to submit your application.
