How much cooling can we expect from green open spaces? New fact sheet from Water Sensitive Cities Australia

Water Sensitive Cities Australia have released a fact sheet summarising their recent rapid review with Alluvium examining the cooling benefits of green spaces in Southern Australia and tropical Asian cities.

The results of the review include new data summarising how much cooling can reasonably be expected of parks of different sizes and how far the cooling extends beyond the park boundaries. As cities face rising temperatures, understanding how park size and design influence cooling can help improve urban planning, reduce heat stress, and create more comfortable public spaces. More details are available in this this article and be sure to check out the fact sheet for results.
