The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has released a discussion paper to invite public and stakeholder consultation on key directions to support drafting a new Environmental Management Plan for Port Phillip Bay.
Port Phillip Bay supports a wide range of social, economic and environmental values and the government recognises the importance of a structured and coordinated plan to manage the Bay’s activities and resources. The new Plan is being developed by DELWP in partnership with Melbourne Water and the Environment Protection Authority Victoria.
Community and stakeholder comments are open until 29 February 2016 and can be submitted via an online survey, at four beach-side community events or in writing via direct submissions.
The draft plan is scheduled to be released for public comment in mid-2016.
