The Centre for Water Sensitive Cities in conjunction with Clearwater delivered the first special speakers seminar, 'Flood Reslience: Lessons from the Netherlands' on February 15th 2011. For those who missed out, the presentation from this event is now available on the Centre for Water Sensitive Cities website.
The keynote lecture was given by Prof Chris Zevenbergen who leads the internationally renowned Flood Resilience Group from the Netherlands. His presentation analyzed the Dutch response to various flood events and explored lessons to be learned from these experiences. The event was attended by over 80 people from across State Government departments, Local Government, Commercial Consultancies, Emergency Services, Melbourne Water, Universities and Sustainability NGO’s.
