The Minister for Water has just released the Strategic Directions Statements for the Integrated Water Management (IWM) Forum regions across the state.
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) has been working with stakeholders from water corporations, local government, CMAs, and traditional owners to progress the Strategic Directions Statements for each IWM forum area to clearly document the vision, forum area needs, short term opportunities for collaboration and longer term direction within each region.
Metropolitan Melbourne IWM Forums are aligned with the existing five major waterway catchment boundaries within the Port Phillip and Western Port catchments. Each forum region has developed a Strategic Directions Statement:
Regional IWM Forums are defined by urban water corporation boundaries. There are nine regional IWM Forums currently established in Victoria, with Strategic Directions Statements available for the following areas:
