Melbourne Water is collaborating with partner organisations on the development of a new Floodplain Management Strategy for greater Melbourne.
The strategy will guide how Melbourne Water and other flood management agencies work with the community to manage flood risks into the future.
After holding a series of community and stakeholder workshops Melbourne Water are now in the process of developing key concepts and directions which will form the basis of a draft strategy.
The development of the draft strategy is guided by a Project Control Board which includes representatives from local government, water retailers and state government agencies with flood and emergency management responsibilities.
Melbourne Water is seeking input on the concepts from key stakeholders until Wednesday 29 October.
