In the ten years since the inaugural Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD) national conference was held in Melbourne, WSUD has been embraced by local government sector across Victoria. The uptake of WSUD in local government has largely been due to the tireless work of individuals who have promoted WSUD and driven on ground projects.
These individuals have lead innovation and taken risks both with new technologies and organisational change. They have been an integral part of the journey to rethinking management of urban stormwater and working towards the wider goal of water sensitive cities.
Clearwater and Melbourne Water would like to recognise the contribution of these stormwater champions and celebrate the work of the Living Rivers program that has supported this work.
We invite local government staff and councillors who have driven WSUD uptake, implementation, and policy to a special cocktail celebration at the Melbourne Aquarium.
Following presentations from Melbourne Water’s new Managing Director, Shaun Cox and Chris Chesterfield, General Manager of the Waterways group, you will have a chance to swap stories and celebrate the achievements of the last 10 years in the magical underwater world of the Aquarium fish bowl room.
RSVP: Tuesday 15th March
