You have been invited to attend the Network Building Event. This event will have a strong focus on leadership.
Program for the day
- Peer presenters:
Vaughn Grey from Moreland City Council and Lachlan Johnson from Manningham City Council will share their experiences of leadership in sustainable water management - challenges they faced and the strategies they used to get people on board. Vaughn will share his story about internal engagement at the officer level, while Lachlan's story is about garnering high level support in external partnering organisations.
- Guest presenter:
Andre Taylor is a highly recommended leadership development specialist with a background in the urban water industry. Andre will present an informative and interactive session on the role of networking in leading sustainable water management. Attendees will build their capacity to lead by learning about what networking is, the types of networking, the importance of water leaders, practical tips and resources. The session will include reflection and self-assessment exercises.
- Dr Cathy Wilkinson - IWCM Operations, Office of Living Victoria will provide a brief overview on the OLV and the newly released draft strategy 'Melbourne's Water Future'.
- Mini workshop: Successful meetings
- Evaluation of the Online IWCM Community:
Structured discussion to pull together the experience and feedback of the last six months of piloting the Online IWCM Community using the Yammer interface. This session will provide opportunity for you to tell us what went well, what we should support into the future, and tease out issues and improvements to make the Online Community more useful and effective.
