Clearwater’s much-loved maintenance training is back!

Join Jamie Comley and Jason Sonneman to learn about practical Maintenance of Street-scale WSUD assets. 

This is a one-day course, with a mix of theory and practical components.

Date: Tuesday 25th February, 2025

Time: TBC - likely 10am to 4pm

Location: In-person. Meet at Melbourne Water's Dockland offices (990 La Trobe St, Docklands). Site visits will be held in the local area. Transport will be arranged by Clearwater. 

Requirements: Some walking on uneven terrain will be required. Please let us know of any accessibility requirements.

What will this session cover?

  • Participants understand the basic concepts of WSUD and Integrated Water Management (IWM) – what it is and why we are doing it?
  • Participants are familiar with the principles of WSUD assets including their function and key components - this enables them to better understand maintenance needs and implications.
  • Participants have the skills to carry out maintenance inspections of WSUD assets using supporting checklists.
  • Participants have a shared understanding of their organisations’ approach to WSUD asset maintenance.
  • Participants build and improve relationships with colleagues who manage WSUD assets.

Audience

Anyone responsible for the hands-on maintenance, or influencing the maintenance of, street-scale WSUD assets.

For example, maintenance crews, supervisors and managers. Engineers and urban designers have often found this session very useful to gain an understanding of the maintenance practicalities and to improve asset design.
