An increasingly variable and changing climate poses risks to the delivery of water and liveability services, at national, regional and local scales.
Due to the growing recognition that water management challenges cannot be solved using a ‘one-size-fits-all approach’, there is a strong drive to focus on local level planning. In Victoria this is evident through the preparation and implementation of WSUD plans, development services schemes, Precinct Structure Plans in growth areas and local level whole-of-water cycle plans.
So how do we assess the impact of a changing climate within the context of local level integrated water cycle and asset planning?
What are the different practical approaches that will ensure local resilience to future climate shocks?
Delivered in partnership with the CRC for Water Sensitive Cities and the City of Boroondara, this half day session will provide you with a unique opportunity to hear from leading experts in this field and actively discuss how you can address these issues practically.
As an attendee you will:
Christian Jakob, Monash University
James Ball, Univeristy of Technology Sydney
Eleanor McKeough, Melbourne Water
Clare Lombardi, City West Water
Kerrie Burge, E2Designlab
Bertrand Salmi, City of Greater Dandenong
Ideal for anyone who is involved in the planning, design and/or maintenance aspects of integrated water management projects at a local scale.
