Clearwater is excited to partner with the International WaterCentre (IWC) to deliver introduction to integrated water management (IWM) training in Victoria to support the implementation of Water for Victoria.
IWM offers a systems based process to approach the volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) situations and challenges we face in managing our cities and broader, surrounding catchments and landscapes.
Dr. Brian S. McIntosh from the International WaterCentre will lead six hours of online training (over 3 sessions) followed by an on-site collaboration workshop. The training will explore key principles of IWM and then demonstrate the application of these principles in a series of real life Victorian case studies that have been delivered in recent years. The case studies will be presented by the water practitioners coordinating these projects in Victoria thus facilitating peer to peer learning and building local knowledge networks.
The session series will focus on translating principles into practice highlighting what works and what doesn’t and why. The sessions will also explore how leadership can play a key role in enabling IWM solutions to come to life.
A DELWP representative will join the first session to provide an update on the progress of Water for Victoria and IWM Forums
The training will be run over three online sessions with an additional in person meet up.
1st Session: Tues 10 May, 10am-12pm
2nd Session: Tues 17 May, 10am-12pm
3rd Session: Tues 24 May, 10am-12pm
4th Session: Tues 12 July, 2.00pm - 4.45pm Facilitated in-person session to consolidate learnings and discuss your implementation / action plans. The event will be held in CBD Melbourne location.
There will be an assignment between each session to ensure you get the most out of the live sessions. Each session will build on the one before. To complete the course you will need to attend all three online sessions. Attending the final in- person session will consolidate your learnings and peer support experience.
