Overview
This popular workshop provides practical guidance on the design and construction of raingardens and biofilters. The workshop covers site analysis, design, materials selection, construction and maintenance to ensure project success. Practical class exercises give participants a deeper understanding of best practice design and effective project management. Discussion throughout the day encourages participants to share knowledge and experience across disciplines.

The workshop is appropriate for people who plan and manage the urban built environment (streetscape, carpark and parkland elements) and are looking for ways to utilise stormwater and improve the quality of run off stormwater.
 

At the end of this session you will:

  • Understand design criteria for rain gardens and how they work
  • Know correct specification for materials for use in rain garden filters
  • Understand how good project management can help avoid common pitfalls
  • Know how to maintain the system

Ideal for planners, architects, builders, landscape designers, site supervisors, horticultural staff, asset managers and environment officers

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
