The Fisherman’s Bend Framework is a plan for the parks, schools, roads, transport, community facilities and services to ensure the liveability of the area as it grows over the next 30 years.
The framework outlines 8 key sustainability goals.
Sustainability goal 4 is A climate resilient community. Elements of this goal include objectives to
- reduce urban heat island
- embed green infrastructure into design
- aim for 50% urban forest canopy coverage
- improve community understanding of climate risks.
Sustainability goal 5 is to be A water sensitive community and elements of this goal are to
- design to accommodate sea-level rise and storm events
- establish an IWM system to provide access to high quality potable and recycled water
